SAHARA UBARI

After passing by the town of Sabha to the visitor directed eastwards to Ghat, on the right there appear the first sandy dunes. At the beginning they’re not much in evidence, but later, beyond the first villages, they get big and wonderful. You can’t avoid stopping at the hostel of Fjeay if you want to go on an excursion to the lakes of Mandara and Gabraoun as fron here you can book a guide on an off-road vehicle. An excursion like this requires, especially in summer, a great amount of prudence not only because of very high temperatures but also for the possibility of sandstorms and of violent summer thunderstorms which we personally saw.
